World War Two: War Stories – The Tank Museum

“Needless to say, I was hugely impressed with my tour of the WW2 Exhibition. It really has been put together outstandingly well and the visitors were clearly really enjoying it.”

Chairman of the Trustees

Project Title: World War Two: War Stories 2020

Description: This exhibition describes the experiences of the tankmen and crews throughout WW2. Concentrating on the lesser well-known engagements, it includes personal stories of the men serving in the RTR throughout World War II, consisting of x18 different zones/battles

Exhibition Space: Large exhibition hall – 3300sqm

Objective: Reposition x60 WW2 vehicles so they are seen in chronological order. Highlight lesser know battles and group vehicles into clear battlegroups.

Challenges: All of the vehicles had to be carefully removed and relocated. Once in position, walls and new features were built around vehicles. This left little room for error as none of the vehicles could be moved after they were placed in their final positions.

Involvement: I provided a detailed layout of vehicle placements and oversaw the final positioning. I designed and conceptualised the exhibition with full 3D renders & movie walkthroughs, and provided project management support throughout the construction phase.

Sea Life Centre – Loch Lomond

Project Title: Loch Lomond – Sealife Centre 2005

Description: Drumkinnon Tower at Loch Lomond Shores.

Loch Lomond is a lake in southern Scotland and is part of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. The centre has x7 themed zones, including a Tropical Ocean Tunnel, and over 1500 creatures. It includes the largest collection of Sharks in Scotland and a playful family of Otters.

Exhibition Space: Sealife Centre construction project – Over 7,000 sqm

Involvement: Production of tender documents including visuals of all themed environments. After being awarded the tender contract I proceeded to fit-out the aquarium with x7 themed area and provided specialist themed concrete floors throughout the exhibition.

Objective: Refurbishment of a millennium tower and develop it to include a Merlin Attractions sea life aquarium.

Challenges: Loch Lomond was an enormous project and based completely the opposite location to my southern-based workshops. Due to the considerable distance, it made communication with the client very difficult and I needed to give the Scottish Government as much information as possible.

I provided all the pre-tender documentation for the project as well as samples of all the theming finishes months before production started on site. The overall project was managed by a construction company Mivan, based in Ireland. A team who have worked on signature projects throughout the world. I provided project management support and worked closely with the chosen architect to ensure the project was delivered successfully.
